Course
As usual, the opening classic starts in ’t Kuipke in Ghent. The finale of the race begins just after the passage over the cobblestones of Jagerij. Some 42 km before the finish, the Molenberg awaits. After that, the race moves quickly on towards one of the first major obstacles of Omloop het Nieuwsblad: the Haaghoek – Leberg duo. Via the Berendries and Elverenberg-Vossenhol, the peloton then heads towards Muur and Bosberg for the conclusion of the race. The successor of Marianne Vos will be crowned 12 km further at the finish on the Elisabethlaan in Ninove. Download the Official Fan Guide including timetable and roadmap below.

Team presentation
The opening classic is more than just a race. Before the sporting spectacle in the Flemish Ardennes breaks loose, we turn Ghent upside down with an atmospheric team presentation in ’t Kuipke. It is one of those unique moments that the riders look forward to all year, but also one of those mornings that you as a cycling fan would not miss for love nor money! Find out how you can be there below.
The doors of ’t Kuipke will be wide open again this year. You do not need a ticket to attend the team presentation and the spectacle in this cycling temple par excellence. Come and cheer on your favourite and enjoy the unique atmosphere at the start of the new cycling season. Linde Merckpoel, Max Vrijens and DJ ProudMich will be there. After the Men Elite team presentation, you can also enjoy the presentation of the Women Elite!

Flanders Classics is putting on a treat to celebrate the 20th edition of Omloop het Nieuwsblad for women! From 11:30 until 12:30, following the start of the men’s race, fans in attendance can enjoy a happy hour in ’t Kuipke with extra entertainment, an open bar including free kegs from partner Maes and, of course, the women’s team presentation.

Marianne Vos was at the start of the opening classic in 2024 for the first time in her career and was immediately victorious. On the Muur van Geraardsbergen, she rode away with Lotte Kopecky, Elisa Longo Borghini and Shirin van Anrooij.
